Not Feeling Well

Today, I have not been feeling well. I stayed home from work because I have a sore throat and I was all stuffed up. I HATE getting sick! I figured I should probably just stay home try to get over it rather than taking it to work and spreading it around. I just drank some hot green tea with honey in it. Hopefully it will kinda clear up my sinuses for a while. Chris is already in bed, he said he wasn't feeling very well either! :(

Being home all day was not a good thing. You would think that being sick I wouldn't have much of an appetite, but that was not the case! I had a somewhat healthy breakfast, 100 calorie English muffin with 1 tbsp Nutella. Then for lunch, I decided to have ramen noodles. I wanted some chicken noodle soup to make me feel better-it was the closest thing I had. For supper we had spaghetti. We hadn't had that in a while so it sounded pretty good. Plus, Chris will have something to take for lunch tomorrow too :)

It is only about 6:45 p.m. and I am ready to hit the hay! That is sad! I have only been up since 9:30!

I am watch the Cooking Channel right now and Everyday Italian is on. She is making a healthy light meal. It looks really yummy minus the beans on the salad! haha :) She is also making a pasta dish with shell pasta, broccoli, mussels, clams garlic, red pepper flake and white wine. I love seafood so it looks amazing to me :) I would probably rather have the mussels and clams without the pasta. Maybe do broccoli on the side!

Going Way to Quick!

This year is slipping by so quick! It is almost 2012!!! Do you have anything you would like to see happen or accomplish in the new year? It seems as though everyone sets a New Years resolution and by February or March, it is dust in the wind. I am hoping this next year I can stick to reaching the goal I am trying to achieve. I won't be disappointed if I don't reach it by my birthday on February 1st, as long as I eventually reach it. At this point it isn't even the weight that I want to lose, but inches and toning up. I just want to look better :)

I am still having a hard time getting back on track. I was completely right about there being goodies at work too! My manager brought everyone a plate of chocolate covered goodness. Mine is still sitting at my desk at work and almost gone! Oops! I was supposed to bring it home to share with Chris. We skipped working out yesterday and got our shopping done. We did go tonight and I walked/ran 3 miles. I couldn't do any weights because I donated blood today. I have a terrible bruise on my arm if you didn't see the picture on Facebook already. It didn't hurt, but boy they got me good! I can't tell if the bruise is from the band aid or from the needle stick. It bled like crazy after I left the Community Blood Bank. I didn't notice the bleeding until I got back to work and the band aid and gauze were completely soaked with blood. Very gross, I know!!!

I am so happy that Chris is on board with working out :) I really like going together. It is so much more motivating! We are talking about getting up early in the mornings to go, but he has to leave for work at 6 a.m. so that would mean that we have to get up REALLY early! The gym tends to be kinda busy after 6 p.m. and that is when we have been going because I work until that time everyday. I guess we will figure it out.

On Like Donkey Kong

Well, what a weekend! It was a lot of fun. Chris and I went up to my parents house and spent the weekend with my family. We will do Christmas next weekend on New Year's Eve with his family during the day. Time went so fast! :( I ate WAY to much food! Not sure how to get back on track after all that. It will still be hard this week because I just know that there will be junk food brought into work. Should be interesting. I feel like I have gained every ounce back that I have lost. GRRRRR!!!! I sure hope not! I have so far to go before my birthday. It really seems impossible right now. I only have 36 days! The holidays really have slowed me down. I just need to focus and not let it get to me. Tomorrow night we are going to workout and I am going to go extra hard!!! I should go in the morning before work too and do a double workout!!! I think I could really use it. I will have to go to weigh in on Friday again this week and that is only 3 days to eat healthy and workout. Oh boy...scary thought. It is so hard to make myself go when I think it is going to be terrible. But it is important to keep going even though I know it could be bad. Usually, it isn't as bad as I think it is going to be. Tomorrow it is on like Donkey Kong until Saturday!!! haha :) I am making some hard boiled eggs. Chris seems to like them too, so they go pretty quick around here!  I just weighed myself and according to my scale I have put on 3 pounds. hmmm. I see lots of running and weights in my future!!!

Results

I completely forgot that I was going to have to post my results today! haha :) I was a little surprised at weight in today...I only gained 1.4 lbs! Not as bad as I was expecting with the amount of junk food I have eaten this past week.

Chris and I both get off work early today! Yay!!! I only have to work from 9-1 so it should be a nice short day. Then we are going to meet our friend for lunch. Not sure where we are going yet, but Chris mentioned Olive Garden last night. I guess we will see :)

Merry Christmas!!!

This whole week has been really rough. I am dreading WW weigh in tomorrow morning. I can't stay for the meeting because I have to work earlier than normal. I went and worked out tonight and I was there for about 30 minutes or so. I really like doing weights. I tried some more machines and I am starting to get used to them. Wednesday night, Chris and I went together and it was a really good workout. He helped me learn how to use a few of the machines and it was very helpful. As far as eating I am taking a break until after the holidays. I just can't seem to keep myself on track. I think the more I think about how bad I am eating, the worse I am! I will just have to try to workout more than normal, I guess.

I am so ready for Christmas and the nice long weekend!!! I probably won't post on my blog again until after Christmas so I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas! Eat well and enjoy your time with friends and family.

No to Chocolate?!?!?!?!?

The week is NOT going as planned!!! I did make all my yummy favorites, but that is not why...I just have absolutely no motivation to eat healthy this holiday season! I am almost ready to say screw it on eating healthy until January 2nd and just workout extra hard! There is way to much tempting food and if you know me, I just can't say no to chocolate! It is my favorite. Even if I am stuffed there is always room for it! Everyone keeps bringing us things at work and I can't be rude! lol :) Tonight I went to Carlos O'Kelly's with my friend Michelle. We just went to have an appetizer and a margarita. It wasn't the best idea for the diet, but it was nice to just go hang out for a while.

I am finally getting to wrap some gifts! It is my favorite part of getting ready for Christmas. I love making them look perfect!

Chris and I went and tested out the gym on Sunday night. We had a good workout after going to one and not getting in and then driving over to another one :) The beef and broccoli turned out pretty good. The meat seemed a little tough, but I think I might have cut the strips the wrong way. Maybe next time I will try something different and have everything prepped before I start cooking! 

I am watching the news right now while doing this...have you ever watched the eyes of the anchors? They go back and forth as they read off the telepromter! haha! Just thought I would throw that in there cuz I thought it was kinda funny :)

Yesterday

Well, I did a post yesterday, but I never shared it anywhere so nobody probably saw it which is good because nothing in it actually happened. I got home from work and Chris said, "Change your clothes, we are going to my parents for dinner." So we went there to eat dinner and we were there until about 9 p.m. so by the time we got home, I really didn't feel like working out. We just stayed up late and watched Pretty Woman. Tonight we will have the beef & broccoli and go workout! I promise!!! haha :)

My birthday is in 45 days and I still want to lose about 20 pounds. hmmm... I think I better get started on this a little harder. I just keep telling myself that slow weight loss is lasting weight loss. Sure, I could probably lose it a lot faster if I didn't eat pizza or cookies, but I really don't like to deprive myself. My problem is I just need to learn when I am full. When I am eating the filling foods, I can usually tell that I am full.

Tuesday, we are having a soup luncheon at work and each property is making a crock pot of soup and a cookie tray. Our property is making chili so I will probably just eat that since I know what is in it and it is considered a filling food (because of the ingredients). I think I want to make some Oreo balls. Everyone loves Oreo balls. I think I might make the mint ones :) They are my favorite though so maybe that isn't a good idea! haha :) I just really feel like making some Christmas goodies! I haven't made anything yet and I keep seeing the ingredients for stuff when I go to the grocery store. Maybe I will make extras and take them up to my mom & dad's for Christmas.  My goal is to be really good all week and then Christmas will be a splurge day for me :)

Missed Weigh In

I missed my weigh in this morning and there are no times later today. So, I guess no weigh in for me this week. This is the 1st time in a long time that I haven't gone. I feel bad for not going! I don't always stay for the meetings, but I have been so good about going to at least weigh in. Even when I think I am going to do bad I have been going. I will have to go on Friday this week since Christmas eve is on Saturday. I am going to try really hard to eat my filling foods. Today has gone good so far. Last week I didn't even track my food at all! I ate crappy all week. The holidays are really hard with all the tempting yummies that people make. I really like white almond bark covered pretzels and the Ritz crackers with peanut butter dipped in chocolate almond bark. Oh why can't they just have no fat and calories! If I ever have 3 wishes from a genie in a bottle, I am going to make one of those wishes be that ALL of the naughty fat filled foods will be NO fat foods! haha :) But, then I probably wouldn't like them as much if I could eat them all the time.

Chris and I are going to go workout tonight when I get off work. Yay! I can't wait to go try out the new gym membership. We joined Snap Fitness because it is close to our place and we get a discount there with my health insurnace (I think I mentioned this in a previous post). The trainer there called me yesterday and I got set up for my free hour with her on January 9th. I wanted to try to do sooner, but with the holidays our schedules weren't working. Oh well, better late than never. I can still go in and do some cardio and the weights that I know how to do.

Supper tonight is going to be Beef and Brocolli. I got a recipe from WW a couple weeks ago and it looks really good and easy! Plus it is all filling foods!!! So, I don't have to count any points! I will make myself some brown rice and I will make Chris white rice. I can't seem to get him to eat the brown stuff yet. A note about brown rice... it is amazing at Chipotle!!! I had that last Sunday after church. It was so good! New favorite!

Slackin'

I am really slacking this week. I have absolutely no motivation to workout or eat healthy. I don't feel like I am eating more than I normally would in a day, but I am not choosing the healthiest options. I had an amazing bacon cheese burger at Applebee's last night with my sister. I think the weather is effecting my eating and workout habits. It is so gloomy and rainy out that I don't want to do anything!

I did email Snap Fitness last night because I get a discount there with my insurance! If you are looking for a gym or currently go to a gym, check with your health insurance company because I found that they give some good discounts with gyms! Mine has free initiation & 10% off at Snap Fitness. Plus, it is less than a mile from our place which I think is going to make a huge difference & Chris and I can go together sometimes :) Anyway, I emailed them last night and they sent me a message back saying they would have someone contact me in 2-3 days! I didn't really want to wait that long. I was thinking I wanted to go there tonight to check it out. Maybe I will just call them today to see if they will have someone there after 6 when I get off and then we can go check it out!

BK Fries

I didn't make it to boot camp today...surprise, surprise. haha :) Last night, Chris and I went out for hot wings and played pool. It was really fun. We weren't out late, but we just couldn't sleep. We probably had to much caffeine.

Today, I didn't have to work. I met up with my friend Sarah for lunch at Burger King and then we went to Good Things on O Street. That place is really neat. They have so many "good things" there :) Really cute gift type stuff. I was supposed to get some Christmas shopping done today, but I didn't find anything there and I didn't make it anywhere else. Since I work every day until the 24th, I guess I will be finding time in the evenings to get it done. I think my trouble is that I don't know what to get people this year.

So, about eating at Burger King, I went in with the intentions of getting a salad. That didn't happen. They have those new french fries and I really wanted to try them. Yep, they are amazing!!! haha :) No salad here. They didn't have the salad listed that I wanted anyway. I tried to find it on the menu! :)

Tonight I hard boiled some more eggs. The last ones turned out good so I figured I would make some more because I make a darn good egg salad sandwich for lunch!

Really? I lost???

Wow! Another unexpected weigh in today! I LOST 1 LB!!! I even ate Culver's last night for supper and I figured I was going to gain so I had a candy bar too! haha :) I guess I must have done something right during the week. Maybe sledding last night with Michelle was a good workout. I think we will have to keep doing that!!!  It was so much fun and it made me feel like a kid again. I better invest in a sled or ask for one for Christmas!

I am waiting for Chris to get home from work. He had to work late so he doesn't have to work tomorrow!!! Maybe we can go Christmas shopping. We have lots more stuff to get! 

Chris is going through the drive through so I guess I will find something here to eat. I had some chili leftover from last Saturday, but I haven't eaten all day so I am kinda hungry. I guess I will see what else I can find.

Damn Oreos

Even though it snowed and I didn't know how bad the roads were, I still got up and went to boot camp. I have 5 punches left on my card. I went 3 times this week! Woohoo! That has been my goal this whole time and I finally accomplished it! Now, to just keep it up!!! Chris and I are considering joining a gym together. I told him that could be our Christmas gifts to each other :)

Chris set up my Wii yesterday so I am excited about that. I think tonight is going to be a game night :) He was up early this morning playing tennis before he went to work.

So, tomorrow is weigh in. I have a feeling it isn't going to be very good. We went to the store on Wednesday night and bought some not so healthy food...Oreos and dip with crackers! I guess Oreos aren't on the Power Food list...who would have thought? lol :) I had a "few" Oreos with milk on Wednesday night and I controlled my eating to just 2 of them last night. I think they are almost gone so the temptation won't be sitting on the counter much longer!!!  The dip and crackers is the other damper on my weight loss...I think I over indulged in that just a little bit too. It was just soooooo good, but I ate so much that I had a tummy ache. Then I wasn't thinking it wasn't worth it. I guess I will pay for it tomorrow at weigh in. I can't wait to ask my leader for more info on the Simply Filling plan! I am understanding it and it really does work when you stick to it, but there are a few questions I have about it. Like I made chili last Saturday and as I was looking at the book, the only thing in it that I would have to count points for would be the tomato juice. So, if I make it without the tomato juice-just put a little more tomato sauce & water in instead-is it going to be considered a filling food? I think I better go to an earlier meeting tomorrow so I can stay for the new changes with WW. They are updating it for 2012 and I can't wait to find out more info and get new books!!! I have seen most of the stuff about it on the website, but I like to hear things from the leader too for their input.

Happy Birthday Mom!!!

I really didn't want to get up this morning, but I did. I got out in the cold and went to boot camp. I pulled up and the place was completely dark!!! Sarah pulled up to find the same thing! So, luckily she had the guys phone numbers so she text them and Sedric just over slept :) He got there around 6:20 and then we had a great workout. We did lots of squats today so I am sure I will be feeling it later in my thighs! I made a breakfast sandwich for breakfast today. It was pretty good! I even cooked my egg in the microwave. It actually worked really good because it fit perfectly in my English muffin and got really fluffy! :)

Today is my mom's birthday! If you know my mom (Connie Mann), make sure to wish her a happy birthday!!! :) She is on Facebook, but she doesn't have her birthday listed. Today is also Pearl Harbor Day. I think it would be a wonderful day to go visit Hawaii to see the memorial since it is cold here! Yep, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii has a high of 82 degrees today! Nice!!! haha :) I better keep dreaming...

I'm Not Hungry! :)

I am loving the Simply Filling plan!!! It seems so easy to me! I haven't been hungry or anything. It is a little hard to grasp! I had rotisserie chicken for dinner tonight with brown rice. I was going to have a salad too, but I was full after the chicken and rice. I bought the wrong kind of rice though so I had to count points on that. I got Uncle Ben's Chicken Flavored Brown Rice and I should have got the Plain Brown Rice so I wouldn't have had to count the points. Don't ask me why the chicken flavor isn't considered filling, but according to WW it isn't, only the plain brown is.


I hard boiled some eggs tonight to have in my salads. Hopefully I cooked them right! I had to get help from my parents over the phone. I have tried and tried to make them and they never get done! Don't use the directions in the Betty Crocker Cookbook!!! haha :) I guess I will find out tomorrow at lunch when I have it in my salad! I love the fact that I can eat eggs and drink milk and not have to worry about the points!

My face is really hot! I really hope that I am not getting sick! That would not be good. I need to get up early in the morning to go to boot camp! Hopefully there are more people there tomorrow!!! haha :)

Back on Track

I started my day at 5 a.m.! I actually made it to boot camp this morning at 6. I was the only one there, so it went really fast. It was a hard workout since I hadn't been in over a week! My goal is to go 3 times this week.

Today is the 1st day of doing the Simply Filling program with WW. So far, I really like it. I still get to use my daily activity points too. I was able to have real eggs for breakfast!!! Plus, I got my healthy oil in by cooking it in a teaspoon of olive oil. Normally, I don't use oil because I don't want to waste my points on it. But since it is on the Power Food list, I don't have to use points!!! I haven't decided what to have for lunch yet, but I am sure I will figure something out. I am kinda leaning towards a tuna sandwich.

3rd Time's a Charm

This is the 3rd time I have tried to start this post today! haha! Let's try this again...

This morning I was up early and went to church. It was fun and I am planning to go again next week. My sister-in-law, Dawn, went with me. She said she would like to keep going too :) Other than that, I haven't really done to much today. I did get my Christmas cards all addressed, but I forgot to get stamps.

Tomorrow, I am going to boot camp in the morning at 6. I already have the reminder set in my phone so no excuses! I am also going to start doing something a little bit different with WW. I am going to try the Simply Filling plan. You don't track points like normal. You eat the foods that they have set as Power Foods and you don't have to weigh or measure, you just eat until you are satisfied, but you have to pay attention to when that is. Power Foods consist of fruits & veggies, lean protein, non-fat dairy, whole grains and lots of other things. So, you eat these foods, plus you get your 49 flex points to use for things that aren't on the list. For example: I am going to have a salad with lettuce, tomatoes, cheddar cheese, hard boiled egg, fat free ranch dressing & croutons. The lettuce, tomatoes, egg, and fat free dressing are all considered Power Foods so I wouldn't need to track them. The cheese & croutons are not Power Foods, so I would have to take their points values  (I would have to measure these items) from my 49 flex points. I am excited to start this. I think I just need to switch things up a bit and that is what is making me want to go off track! Hopefully it works for me. I will keep you all posted as usual :)

Really Not as Bad as Expected

So, today's weigh in was not as bad as I expected. I gained 1.2 lbs, but I thought it was going to be way worse than that. I gained what I took off last week. On to a new week!!!

It is really snowy and getting slick out. I have a pot of chili on the stove and I baked some banana bread. I have tried both now and they are good :) haha. Chris is working today, so he will be happy to have warm chili for dinner when he gets home! I also got our Christmas tree up. It looks pretty. Tiny, but pretty :)

Dreading Tomorrow...

I am really dreading weigh in tomorrow. I have been terrible the last two days! Last night I had Rick's Steakout (yummy philley sandwich-if you go, try the hot...it is really HOT!!!) Then today, I went to Jimmy John's for lunch-I did get the skinny chips by accident. Tonight for supper, we went out to Red Lobster for my sister's birthday. So, I am sure we are looking at a gain tomorrow people. There is no way around it I am afraid. I haven't worked out at all this week and I am really feeling it. It is amazing how crappy you feel when you go from eating healthy to eating unhealthy. My tummy hasn't really felt right all day, but it hasn't stopped me from eating bad.

I don't know how I went from being so conscious about what I was eating and doing for workouts to really not caring at all. I had so many weeks with very small losses and not seeing results at the scale to a week where I actually lost over a pound and then to sabotage it all. How sad is that!?! What is going on with me??? UGH!!!!!!!!!!!  Ok, so I have to be back to it tomorrow. Maybe it is because I started doing that Lose It thing and it is throwing me off the game? IDK. I was going to try to do the Lose It this week, but I think I may just hold off. I need this weigh in stuff each week to keep me going. Even though I know I am probably going to gain tomorrow, I am still going to weigh in (as long as the weather isn't bad-if it is icy out I am not going anywhere!!!). I found out that WW is adding an app that will have the bar code scanner too!!! Yay! That makes me soooo happy!

What a Week!

I have had a lot of set backs this week! I can't seem to make it to boot camp, so I have decided that I am not going to plan to go the rest of the week and start fresh on Monday! I have been feeling very sleep deprived this week and I need my sleep. I haven't even been out to run! I couldn't tell you the last time I got out to do that! How terrible is that?!?!

There is an app that I just downloaded to my phone called Lose It! Thanks to Katie, I have started using it and it is so much fun! I love scanning things! I told her that I feel like I work at the grocery store :) haha. So it is a really cool app and here is why...You put in your current weight, you put in your goal weight and then you say how many pounds you want to lose per week. The most it will do is 2 since anything over that is not recommended. It tells you the date that you will reach your goal. Then it tells you how many calories you get to eat per day. That is where the scanning comes in...you can scan your everyday foods you eat that have bar codes to put them into your device! I love it! You can also record by looking foods up. There is a very extensive restaurant selection so even if you eat out, you can see how many calories you are eating! You can also do this online at www.loseit.com if you don't have a smart phone. I have done both and have them linked. Right now I am counting my calories and doing points just to see how it all plays out. Next week, I think I will try to just do Lose it and not do points and see how WW turns out! haha :) If it works, I think I may cancel WW and save $40 a month!

Weigh in is just around the corner and I am a little scared of it this week since I haven't been working out. I am still counting my points as I mentioned earlier, but I am already out of flex points for the week and it is only Wednesday! Wish me luck for the rest of the week!!! :)

5 Meals 1 Bag

Wow! It's been a little while since I have posted! :) I guess I was taking a break just like I did with my exercising! I have been slacking!!! I have stuck to WW though and I am back to boot camp tomorrow morning. I have decided that I like to work out in the morning because then I have time to do stuff in the evenings!

I printed off a meal planner called 5 meals, 1 bag (or something like that) from Kraft.com and it is pretty neat. Tonight was our first night with it and the burgers were really good :) This meal planner gives you all the ingredients in a shopping list with 4 recipes and Friday is pizza night :) It made grocery shopping really easy and it is nice to know that I have all of the ingredients for yummy meals all week long!

Well, nothing else exciting has really happened since Saturday. I spent most of the day on the couch yesterday sleeping and watching TV. It was kinda nice though :)

5% Goal

What a way to start the day!!! I lost 1.2 pounds! It's about time I lose more than .2! haha! I have lost a total of 8.2 pounds. I am really happy! I also hit my 5% goal today, but I didn't know that until I got home. My daily points allowance went down 1 so now I get 30 per day.

I have a cold and it bothers me the most when I am sleeping at night and right away in the morning. I am really tired. I think I will take a little nap :) We don't have anything going on until later except laundry. We are doing Thanksgiving with Chris's parents around 4:30 so I get to eat another yummy meal. We are having ham at this one so it is nice that I don't have to eat turkey twice. I am undecided on the pie though. I guess I will see what kind there is before I make up my mind :)

I'm a Survivor

I made it through the Thanksgiving Day feast yesterday. I didn't even go back for seconds. I had 1 piece of apple pie with fat free cool whip and everything else I had planned to eat. After having supper I came out with a total of eating 37 points yesterday which is just 6 over my daily allowance :) I will take that. It's probably the healthiest I have ever eaten on a holiday!

I survived Black Friday shopping!!! We stood in line at Target from 10:30 p.m. until they opened the doors at midnight. The line seemed to go pretty fast even though we were wrapped all the way around the building. I got ran over by a granny on a motorized shopping cart. Really!?! Good thing I had the luggage that Brenda was buying between me and her cart! After Target, we went to the mall. We didn't even park in the mall parking lot! It wasn't that far to walk. It was actually better than driving around for 20 minutes to find a parking spot. We were there by 2 a.m. and we went to a few different stores. We actually all purchased the same jeans at Maurice's. They were really cute so we couldn't pass them up. I didn't try them on and I got a couple sizes smaller than I normally do. I tried them on this afternoon and they don't fit, but they are a good motivation to keep up what I am doing. They go up, they just don't zip. I was kinda excited about the fact that I got them up over my butt!

We decided not to tailgate since we didn't get home until 5:20 a.m. I was tired!!! I was awake for almost 24 hours. I slept until 10 a.m. and woke up to a very stuffy nose. I took some cold medicine and tried to lay back down, but that didn't work so I stayed up and had some lunch. Then fell asleep on the couch while we were watching the Husker game. The nap was wonderful!!!

Tomorrow is weigh in and I have stepped on my scale and I am not seeing a difference in my weight again. I tried to make the adjustments and eat more protein and add a few more points in each day I work out. I just don't know what else to do! It is getting really frustrating and hard to stay motivated when you don't see the results on the scale. I guess I will just keep doing what I am doing and hopefully I will get over this plateau soon!

Happy Thanksgiving

It could be a challenging day today with all they yummy food of Thanksgiving. BUT...I am going in armed with my tracker and my measuring cups! haha :) I just got done with my workout for the day. It wasn't nearly as intense as boot camp, but it was still good. I even did push-ups and knee to elbow crunches!!! I can really feel those crunches and I am getting way better at push-ups! I did 20 in a row touching my chest to the floor. It got really hot in my apartment with the oven on. I had to open the patio door a little bit. It looks like it is going to be a really nice day so maybe we can go out for a walk after lunch!

So, the turkey is in the oven and the only thing I have left to bake is the pumpkin pie! It should be easy since it is coming straight from the freezer section of the grocery store! haha :) Right now I am watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and it seems like they do a lot more talking than they used to! It is really boring and I think I might change the channel! I don't remember it this way. They are hardly showing any of the floats and balloons! Grrr!

OK, well I am going to go check on the turkey and eat something for breakfast. I hope everyone has a very happy Thanksgiving filled with food, family & friends :)

Woohoo Wednesday!!! Thanksgiving Eve :)

Yay! Today is the last day of work for the week! No sleeping in tomorrow though! I have a turkey to make!!! Wish me luck! It has been a while since I have made one! I need to get a pan to cook it in 1st! haha :) I am going to bake my pies tonight!

I could not get to sleep last night. I think I was awake to see every hour hit on my alarm clock!!! It made it a little tough to get up at 5 a.m. to get to boot camp, but I made it! Thank goodness! It was an awesome workout this morning! Just what I needed for a long weekend. I have to get my run or my 10 Minute Trainer videos in tomorrow while my turkey is cooking. I think should be able to find time in the 3-4 hours it has to cook. I have my meal all planned out for tomorrow so hopefully I can stick to it! I have to because weigh in is on Saturday and I really want to see some good results this week. It is about time I start shedding some pounds. I know I am gaining muscle, but everyone who has been following my blog knows that I am in this to get lose weight and get healthy!

Tomorrow night I am going shopping starting at 10:30 p.m. Yikes! I don't know how I got roped into this one! Thanks Brenda :) LOL! JK :) It will be fun. Hopefully we get some good deals. I really don't have plans to buy anything, but you just never know if you are gonna find that unbeatable deal you just can't live without! haha! Then it is off to tailgate at on Friday morning. I really hope I can make it through the day.

Just for you Michelle :)

Michelle called me out because I hadn't posted yet today. haha! So this one is just for her AND everyone else that was missing it today :)

Today has been a good day. I didn't workout as planned but it's OK. I worked all day and someone brought lemon bars into work. Mmmm...I love lemon bars so I couldn't resist. I had to cut out my 2 afternoon snacks, but I got to enjoy something I don't get all the time :) I was surprised that they were only 3 points each!  I did have 1 1/2 :) Chris and I had some errands to run tonight after I got off work so we went to Applebee's for dinner. I had a steak and it was delish. It was still in my points though I had 18 left for the day and my meal was 15. I had a little bit of the spinach & artichoke dip and it was good, but I didn't eat very much of it.

My throat has been feeling a little funky today. Hopefully I'm not getting sick. I don't get sick often but when I do it hits me like a ton of bricks!!! I hope I can catch this one before it gets me! I have way to much planned for this weekend to be not be feeling good! I took some cold medicine and I am going to get to bed early. I have boot camp in the morning and need to be ready for it. I have been slacking in the running dept ever since I started boot camp. I guess I feel like I get so much better of a workout at boot camp than I do when I run. Ugh! I have such a hard time sticking to something! haha :) I guess I like variety! Plus it has gotten so cold outside it makes it hard to run out there. And as you know, I hate the treadmills. It is just way to boring for me!!! I will be running this weekend as it is a 4 day weekend and there isn't any boot camp until Monday. Boo :(

Good Morning Monday

What a wonderful Monday morning! I sure hope everyone else is having as good of a morning as I am. I went to bed early last night and was able to get up bright and early at 5 A.M. for boot camp. Another great workout! Sarah and I were the only ones there and we worked out extra hard :) It just feels so good to work so hard. It doesn't even take that long. It actually goes really fast-1 minute of burpees or squats feels like forever, but the entire workout goes really fast! I think that's why I like it so much. Now, I am enjoying a nice post workout protein shake. That is just one way I am going to try to get in more protein this week :)

This weekend went wwwwwaaaaayyyyyy to fast! haha! Saturday I did pretty much nothing all day. Which was really nice. Yesterday was a nice relaxing day with the family. My little nephew Sam had his baptism so everyone was there and we had lunch at my sister's place. It was fun. Lots of good food. I wanted a piece of cake really bad on Saturday and I held out because I thought there would be cake. Sure enough there was! Yay!!! It was worth the wait!!!

Now, I just have to plan my strategy for Thanksgiving day! Glad I only have to eat at one place...I already have my tracker filled out for the day so hopefully I can stick to what is planned. Maybe I should take my measuring cups with me to lunch! haha! My family won't care :) The other problem that I will be encountering is Friday--late night/early morning shopping and tailgating! Then weigh in on Saturday! Yikes!!! I think I can do it though :) I will just have to drink lots of water and keep in mind that I have weigh in the next morning!!!  Then there is lunch on Saturday, which I'm not as worried about because I will have weighed in already and it is the start of a new week! 

Only 3 days of work this week! Makes me want to do a happy dance! haha!!! I keep seeing all these commercials on TV for holiday stuff. I like the Target ad where the lady is practicing up for her Black Friday shopping! The other one I like is Edible Arrangements. Mostly because the fruit covered in chocolate looks so good! Oh and there is the Hallmark one where the little girl is counting down the days until Christmas. Super cute!

Experimantal Week Ahead

It was weigh in day and I only lost .4 lbs. REALLY... .4??? Ugh!!! I worked so hard this week and that's all I get??? What a bummer! After talking to the WW leader about what I was doing and what might be going wrong, we came to the conclusion that maybe I should be eating more protein at every meal and I should also try eating some of my activity points. I don't necessarily need to eat all of them, but she said to try to add 2 or 3 points on the days I workout. I usually earn 8-10 points on days I do boot camp and 3 points for running/walking. It just depends on how long you workout and how intense the workout is. I guess I will give this a try this week. SO...This week is going to be an experimental week. It might be tough with my nephew's baptism, Thanksgiving and tailgating, but I think I can do it :)

It's hard to believe that a few months ago, I wasn't working out or eating good and now it just seems like a way of life. I feel so good and even though I am not losing the weight at the rate I would like to, I know it is possible and slow weight loss is more likely to be long lasting weight loss. One of these days, I am going to step on that scale and it will be where I want it.

I have chicken noodle soup cooking in the crock-pot for dinner! It smells amazing! It is so cold outside today. I think a nap may be in my near future :) Putting up my Christmas tree sounds kinda fun but I don't want to go outside in the cold to get it from the garage! haha :) At some point today, I need to do some crunches and push-ups. At boot camp he told us to do some of these over the weekend so that we aren't all sore again on Monday!

Finally Friday :)

Another great workout at Fit4Lincoln boot camp this morning! There were only 2 of us there, but we worked just as hard if not harder!!! LOVE IT! I know I am getting a good workout when I feel like I could puke every time I leave. haha! Boy, I am sore!!!

I am really glad it is Friday...I get off at 2 P.M. today and really have no plans. I am ready for a day off from working out & work tomorrow! I have weigh in at WW and I am super excited about it. I have been tracking everything this week. I have only used 19 of my 49 weekly Points Plus extra points and I haven't used any of my activity points. If I stay the same this week, I am going to be pissed. But...I think if I stay the same, it is because I haven't been using all of my points each day! Well, I suppose I could start eating more :) I have never had a problem with that before, obviously...that's why I am doing WW in the first place! haha! Oh yeah, and I will be doing measurements as well!!!

Not Sure What To Use For A Title Today

I think I should have used yesterday's title for today! I didn't go to boot camp this morning, but I did get out and do my Couch-to-5K plan run. I had to cut it short because for some reason I just kept having problems come up this morning with getting out the door...couldn't find stuff. First it was my gloves, then my hat, then my headphones, etc...REALLY!?! I need to get stuff ready the night before I think! haha.

I was planning on going to boot camp this morning, but I decided that I will just go tomorrow instead. Chris suggested that I go 3 times a week and do my running in between. I think it sounds like a good idea, so I am going to give that a try.

It was really cold out there this morning. As I was running out of our parking lot at the apartments, everyone was out scraping their car windows. There was a really thick frost on them!!! Kinda glad that I didn't go out at 5:30 a.m. I would have been mad if I had to scrape mine that early in the freezing cold 20 degrees!!!

I can't wait until Saturday morning for weigh in! I really hope that this week I have a loss!!! I did take my measurements last Saturday, so I will do that as well. I don't know if you should measure every week or if I should do that like every 2 weeks. I guess I will have to Google that to see what is best...Google is a girls best friend...I can find almost anything on there! LOVE IT!!! haha

Well, it is way past my normal time to get ready so I best be getting in the shower and ready for work!!! Have a good day everyone :)

Oh...6 a.m. Boot Camp, How You Make Me Sore :)

I couldn't get to sleep last night after running so I was wide awake until at least 12:15 a.m.! Not good  when you have to get up so early. I Today was BOOT CAMP DAY! I did it!!! I was actually up at 5 a.m. and made it out the door by 5:30! WOW!!! Is all I can say! What a workout! I thought I was going to throw up. I never did, but I was searching in my car for cup or something just in case it happened on my way home...Thank goodness that it didn't. So anyway...the workout was really good! It was tough and I am sure I will be feeling it today! I was really glad that they weren't mean-they just told us what to do and it was a really good work out. They kept telling us by name we were doing good and they would tell you if you needed to do something differently. There were only 3 other girls in the class with me so they pay attention to everyone.I came home and had a protein shake and I will eat breakfast here in a few minutes. I just wanted to get my post up :) My tummy still feels a little funky, but maybe it is because I haven't eaten yet. Hopefully there aren't any deliveries today at work where I have to go up and down stairs! haha.

I am sure I will be zonked out by 9 tonight! haha! I guess that is good if I am going to get up and go tomorrow morning too. I got the 10 punch card, so I think I will take advantage of it and get some awesome results!!!

Early to Bed, Early to Rise

Tomorrow morning is going to come way to fast!!! I am not used to getting up at 5 a.m.! I have to be out the door by 5:30 a.m. for boot camp. I am really excited but at the same time scared. Tonight, I went out for my Couch-to-5K plan run/walk. I went 2.27 miles and it took me a little over 32 minutes. Supposedly, I am going to be able to run 3 miles in 30 minutes at the end of this thing...I guess I did start out walking for the 5 minute warm-up, so maybe that isn't too bad :)

Well, I am going to cut it short tonight. Not much exciting stuff has happened today and I need to get to bed early! Wish me luck and as always...I will let you know how it goes!!!

Snooze...

This morning I was up at 5:45 a.m. with Chris. He leaves for work around 6. I wanted to be up early to make sure that I got the livingsocial deal today!!! It is a 10 Punch Card at Fit4Lincoln for just $20. There are several different classes you can take. I am going to test out the boot camp on Wednesday morning at 6. I figured if I just go once a week to boot camp that would be a really good way to learn some moves and get toned up. Running is good, but I really need to work on my upper body strength. Well anyway...after hitting the snooze button 5 times this morning, it should be interesting getting up and leaving by about 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday!  haha :) I know I can do it. I am really excited to go to a boot camp class. I have been wanting to try one for quite a while. This was such a good deal, I couldn't pass it up. Even though I hit the snooze button this morning, I still made time to workout. I did my 10 Minute Trainer videos. I did 2 workouts for a total of 20 minutes. It really kicks your butt!!! I am sitting here still sweating and I have been done for about 10 minutes now. :)

Always a Bright Side

This weekend has gone so quick. It isn't much of a weekend when you have to work. Last night, I made a really yummy dinner for me and Chris. Fried chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy and corn. It was so good! The chicken was boneless skinless thighs. Chris says it was better than good, it was great! :)

Tonight I wanted to have Chinese food. I told Chris to decide what he wanted while I went for my run. I got back and he had eaten a salad. So, no Chinese food for us. Oh well. I ran extra fast just so I could go get it sooner too! So, since I didn't get the Chinese food, I couldn't decide what to have for dinner since I had my heart set on it already. I still didn't go get it. Instead I just ate a turkey sausage dog on a bun. Then I had a bag of sour cream and onion chips.

I am in the process of baking some oatmeal raisin cookies for Chris to take to work. I have only ate 1. No more points left for the day, so no more!!! But it sure was good. See, if I would have had the Chinese food, I wouldn't have been able to have the cookie :) There is always a bright side.

Bring It On

Weigh in at WW didn't go as planned AGAIN. I stayed exactly the same weight! I know I ate out a lot last week, but I still ran almost everyday and I tracked everything I ate! I guess I will look on the bright side...at least I didn't gain. I have never had this much trouble losing before! After work today, I am going to measure my waist, hips, thighs & arms. Maybe then I won't feel so bad if I am not losing pounds, hopefully I am losing inches! I think my waist looks and feels a little smaller. Hopefully my eyes aren't deceiving me!!! :) I won't know the results of measurements until next week so really nothing to go off of, but that will just be another way for me to stay motivated.

I really wanted to stop for breakfast this morning, but I didn't! McDonald's was calling me. I did everything in my power to not go past one! I just made my way home to make a sandwich and grab stuff for lunch. I had a sandwich made for lunch already, but my husband stole it! :) I think he thought it was his because I never make sandwiches for myself the night before. It's ok. We had plenty of stuff to make another one. Glad time allowed me to make it. I had the sandwich for breakfast and I brought a turkey dog and bun for lunch. Usually, I just eat the turkey dog by itself, but I thought maybe the bun would be a good addition to it today :)

So, next weeks weigh in is going to be amazing! I just have this feeling. Today's weigh in is no longer going to get me down. I have my tracker out and I am ready for a new week...BRING IT ON!!!

Up Early

I was up early today! I went out in the cold...brrr! I wore a hat. Not only because it was cold, but my hair was really messy from sleeping. haha :) It was sooo bright out this morning so it was a good thing I stopped at my car to grab my sunglasses!!! Next time, I am going to wear gloves too! I went 2.4 miles this morning and it took me 34 minutes. I did the same program as last night. You are really supposed to wait a day between these workouts, but I just couldn't resist. I will probably do this same workout through next week so I will do it on Monday, Wednesday & Friday as well. The other days I can do something else.

I had my favorite thing for breakfast...Nutella on an English muffin with 2 turkey sausage links. Yum. I don't eat the sausage on the muffins if you are thinking that. I did try it once, but it wasn't so good. haha :)

I can't wait for weigh in tomorrow!!! I have to go to an earlier one since I have to work. Maybe I can get another workout in this evening. I like working out on Friday nights.

Couch-to-5K ®

So, today I was introduced to the Couch-to-5K ® Running Plan by my friend Katie. It only takes 20-30 minutes per day 3 times per week and is a combination of running and walking. There is always a 5 minute brisk walk warm up then you do intervals. Tonight it was run for 60 seconds and walk for 90 seconds and you just keep doing that for 20-30 minutes. The crazy thing is...I went the same route that I normally go and it took me the exact same time! haha!!! I must normally run really slow!!! I programmed all of the workouts for this Couch-to-5K ® into Runkeeper on my phone, so it tells me when to change up what I am doing. It worked so good! It still tracked my time, calories burned, distance and map. So, with this program it says you should be able to run 3 miles (or 5K) on a regular basis in just 2 months. I am so pleased with my eating habits today! It is already 8:30 p.m. and I still have 9 points left for the day and I gained extra points for working out. I normally don't eat my workout points because I am always scared I haven't figured points right throughout the week. We ate at a sushi/Chinese restaurant last night and I am sure I went overboard with my eating. When I got home I had a tummy ache so I watched a little TV then went to bed. SLACKER!!! Those days happen though. I was back on track today, that's what really matters. Finally, after eating out at least one meal every day this week, I have had a day without. Go me!!! :)

85 Days To Go!!!

Yay! Today went so much better than yesterday. I still really had the urge to eat all day, but I controlled myself. At supper time, I still had 16 points left. I went to dinner with my sister and her boys at Applebee's. I don't really like any of their WW menu items and I had considered getting one of the 550 calorie & under meals, but the chicken fried chicken was calling me!!! I had figured out points for the items I was considering before I went which was a really smart move on my part. There was 32 points in the whole portion of the c-f-c. I asked for a box to come out with my meal and it was the 1st time I had ever done this. It really does help...outta sight, outta mind :)  Since I cut it in half, it was only 16 points! It fit into my points for the day perfectly!!! Plus, now I have supper for tomorrow...or lunch for Chris :)

I went to the fitness room to run on the treadmill. I went 20 minutes. That's all I could stand. I was getting bored, but I kept pushing myself to make it to 20 minutes and I even did some sprints to liven it up a little. I came home and did some weights. I need to start strengthening my back more. It is still kind of hurting.

I love the show I Used to Be Fat on MTV. I am seriously thinking of making a calendar that is a countdown to my birthday. Then everyday it is a reminder of how hard I am working and how hard I have to work to make this happen. Lets see...how many days is it???  85 days...

Now I Know Why I Run At Night!

OMG! This being home and bored is terrible!!! I have been eating non-stop! I was only supposed to have a banana for dinner or something light, like a salad. So far I have had leftover hamburger helper, popcorn with Nutella on it (which I might say was pretty good) and cookie dough. I threw away what was left of the cookie dough so no more temptations there. I think I am done eating for the night though, because my tummy is hurting from it all now!

I think I will stick to running at night!!! Unless, I have something going on in the evening that will keep me busy!!! BACK ON TRACK TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!! I know everyone always says that and I have been saying that all weekend, but I really have to or I will not see the results I want to see on Saturday!!! Which will put me way behind schedule!!! I still have 22.8 pounds to go!

Day Off

Today has been such a nice day off. I didn't have a ton of stuff to do around the apartment. I was up around 8:15 a.m. Watched some TV and played around on Facebook until about 10. Then I went for my run. I figured I had better get it done this morning while the weather was still decent. It is supposed to rain/snow this evening and into tomorrow.

I went to lunch with a friend today and kinda splurged again. It will be OK though. I just won't have much for dinner. I had an amazing BLT at Bisonwitches. I love that place :) It was really nice to catch up with her. It had been quite awhile since had seen each other.

After lunch, I made my way over to Target. I found some base layers for running in the cold. Hopefully, they will help keep me warm. I also got a new shirt and a cute scarf :) I just couldn't resist! haha!

Well, now I am going to just relax while some clothes are finishing up in the laundry.

Time Change

I was so happy that the time changed last night! It means I got an extra hour of sleep!!! I needed it too after going tailgating yesterday and staying out half the night having fun with friends. I was really off plan last night! Hopefully, I can make up for it this week. I will have to do my best! Lots of workouts and  really watching my food.

Today, my parents came by and we went out to lunch with them at Arby's. It was so good. I didn't really eat the healthiest of foods there. They do have these 5 Feel Good meals that you can choose from that are all under 500 calories. But I didn't chose to have have one of those. Now I wish I would have. I had the Ultimate Angus Philly and jalapeno bites! Mmmm...it was good. I used 27 of my 31 points for this meal. That doesn't leave me much to work with for supper. Looks like it will be a banana at this rate. LOL :)

I feel like I could use a little cat nap. I think I just might do that. Then later go out for my jog.

Not What I Expected

I tried to send my blog from my phone, but obviously that didn't work! So here is what I was trying to say plus a little more I am sure...

Today's weigh in was not what I was expecting at all! I actually gained .2 lbs! I tracked all week and I worked out several times. It is really hard to understand. The WW leader said that I will probably just have a big loss next week. Which I am really hoping for!

My friend isn't feeling well, she thinks she might have the flu so we haven't gone tailgating yet. I am not going to go unless she goes. I hate driving in the traffic and trying to find a place to park. She is so much better at it than me. So, hopefully she starts feeling better, but if not that is OK too. I am just going to play it by ear today :)

Week 2 Weigh in...

Tomorrow is weigh in already! I can't wait. I am so excited to see how I did this week. I can't believe I made it through Halloween week without even having a candy bar! Yes, I did splurge and have some treats here and there, but I didn't go overboard. Everything I ate I counted points for! I feel like I have really started to get this down. You would think after doing WW like 5 different times I would. From listening to people at WW meetings it sounds like everyone starts and stops and starts and stops...

I am going tailgating tomorrow. I am really excited since it will probably be the last time I go this football season. Hopefully, I don't go to crazy with eating out and having some drinks. There are so many points in alcohol it is ridiculous! Eating out never seems to be easy for healthy eating.

I ran again tonight and went 1.96 miles in about 27 minutes. That seems about average for me.Today at work we decided to have Runza. I surprised myself and I ordered the chicken strip kids meal. It was plenty of food and really satisfied my fried food craving.

I will try to post to my blog from my phone via text message. I don't know how it is going to look, but I am going to try it so everyone can see my results for the week right away :)

I Finally Did It!!!

I did it! I finally got up early yesterday to workout. My alarm was set for 7 a.m. and I actually didn't get out of bed until 7:45 a.m. That means I had just enough time to get a 30 minute workout in before I had to get ready for work. I stepped outside and realized how cold it was! It was only 30 degrees! Brrrr!!! So I decided to give the fitness room at my apartment complex a try. Yes, I finally did it...I ran on a treadmill. I didn't like it, but it was a lot warmer than outside! I still used Pandora to listen to music, but it was boring to look around at the same thing for a 1/2 hour.

I am up early again today, but I did go to bed pretty early. I really should go get my workout done, but I am thinking tonight sounds better. If I go tonight, I won't be home as much to eat :) and it might be a little warmer so I could go run outside. I have weigh in tomorrow morning at WW and I am excited to see how I have done this week. I have been tracking my food intake all week and I have worked out 3 times and it will be 4 after my workout tonight.

Last night, I went to an Advocare mixer. I would like to try some of the products they have to offer. Not sure that I am up to a 24 day challenge, but I think I might put in an order to try 1 or 2 things.

1st Snow

Today we had our 1st snow. How exciting!!! Not if you like to run outside! I didn't go today because it was so cold and kind of rainy/snowy. Plus, Chris was home this evening so we went shoe shopping. I need some new shoes for work. I didn't find anything I like, so the search will continue.

It was the perfect day for soup. I love the Light Progresso New England Clam Chowder :) So yummy I don't even need crackers. Tomorrow I think I will take some Chicken Noodle. There is still all the naughty stuff at work, but it looks like it is almost gone...hopefully it won't be there tomorrow. I just can't resist stuff with frosting on it! haha :)

Even though I say I can't get up early to workout, I really have to tomorrow. I won't have time in the evening and since I skipped today, I have to go tomorrow. My goal is to get at least 3-4 days in each week. So it is early to bed for me!!!

Garage Cleaning

I was to busy to post yesterday so I am doing one quick before I head to work. It was another tough, tempting day at work. There were lots of left over goodies and it was very hard to resist. Yes, I did give in. I had a little bit of a cookie cake and a little bit of these things that are like scotcharoo bars but they are made with Fritos instead of Rice Krispies. They were so good!!! So, right when I got home I changed clothes and headed out for a run. I went 2.12 miles and it took about 28 minutes. Before I headed upstairs, I went to the garage to start cleaning so I could get my car in it. I guess we are supposed to get some snow today. I spent about 2 hours working out there. Climbing the ladder and rearranging all of our junk! Someday I will get really ambitious and go through the tote boxes and get rid of stuff. Let me know if you are having a garage sale sometime and I may add to it! haha :)

Today, I was pretty wide awake at 5:30 a.m. when Chris was heading to work. There were some flurries that you could see in the street light. I guess it is November and it is to be expected. I think I was a little bit excited! I love the 1st snow. Yes, I am a little bit crazy :)  I did go back to bed until about 8:15 a.m.  Not sure how I am going to get my run in tonight because it is going to be really cold and rainy/snowy! I guess I could try the treadmill, but I really hate running on them because I feel like I am going to fall down!

As always, I will let you know how it goes or what I decide to do...brave the elements, use the treadmill or skip both and go boot shopping :) haha!

Chiropractor & Halloween

I woke up this morning to my back killing me even worse than anytime in the past week. I decided to give calling the chiropractor another go. I got in at 2:30. I was so nervous because I had never been to one before. It went good. I felt really good right after, but as the day went on, it was really hurting. I iced it and even took some Advil. Now that I am home and just relaxing with my feet up it is really starting to feel better. Hopefully tomorrow when I wake up I will feel good as new! Unfortunately, I can't get my run in today :( Oh and the chiropractor said that I need to do some back strengthening exercises. She suggested with a resistance band. 

Snacking at work today was a BIG problem! We had Dominos for lunch. I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich. It was so yummy! I only ate half and brought the other half home. I need to figure out how many points were in it. There were so many cookies and candies available all day long and I just couldn't resist! Oh well, I guess one day of eating a little bad won't hurt. I just have to be on target tomorrow and run! For dinner, we had chicken on the Foreman grill and then I put hot wing sauce on it. It was really easy and tasted pretty good.

We haven't had any trick-or-treaters yet and we probably won't. I never did get to the store to get the granola packs that I was planning to get. So it's probably a good thing no kids have come by or they might get something crappy! haha :)

Lazy Sunday

Sleeping in was wonderful today. Most of you would probably say I sleep in everyday as I normally get up at 8:15 a.m. Today, I slept until about 10:30 a.m. Then Chris and I just kinda laid around and watched TV. Around 1 p.m. we decided to go shopping so we went down to South Pointe and walked around. There were so many kids there dressed up! They were having some kind of trick-or-treat thing going on. There was a little girl dressed as Hello Kitty! I really wanted to ask where she found her costume, but that might be weird for a 29 year old to dress up as Hello Kitty :) hmmm...Maybe next year when I am 30! haha

We went to Barnes & Noble today and they have a Starbucks. I couldn't resist the temptation. I got a light Java Chip Frappuccino (no whipped cream). It was delish!!! I went to the Starbucks website to get the nutritional info since I couldn't find it on the Weight Watchers website. It was 6 points and so yummy! Glad I treated myself to that today!

I didn't get a run in yesterday, so I for sure wanted to go today. I went 2.11 miles in 27 minutes. It was so windy out there! I really want to get some Under Armour long sleeve shirts and pants for when it gets really cold. My zip up Columbia fleece is just not cutting it!

This week should be some what of a tough week with Halloween, birthdays at work and whatever else may come my way. Stay tuned for how I am doing with it all :)

Weigh In

Today was the 1st weigh in after starting this blog. Woohoo!!! I lost 3 pounds exactly! I am so happy with this amount. All my hard work an dedication to my weight loss journey has paid off this week. Yay! It really hasn't seemed like a week or like it has been that hard. It is really just a mindset of--"Do I really need that?" or "Is that really going to satisfy me?"

I am really starting to enjoy running. I may not do it everyday, but the time I do spend doing it is enjoyable. I can't ever seem to get up in the morning to go run so it will probably always be in the evening. The important thing is that I am making time for it. I figured out why my feet hurt the night I got my new shoes & socks...It was the socks!!! I gave them to my mom because she likes the kind that I got. I guess I will have to keep searching for the perfect socks! haha :)

I have spent the early part of the afternoon at my sister's house with my parents and my nephews. It has been wild around here! The 2 year old did not want to get his hair cut. It took everything mom (grandma) and I could do to get it done while dad (grandpa) held the baby. The 2 year old had me rolling with laughter! He had to go potty so I took his diaper off and put him on his potty (I have no experience with potty training so not a clue as to what to do). Then he came out of the bathroom and was running around naked! He did not want to put a diaper back on and my dad was telling him he had to and he just kept saying no. Dad was worried he was going to poop on the floor because he kept saying "poop". It was the funniest thing ever! haha

Not sure what we have on the agenda for this evening, but it is a Saturday night. Chris should be home around 4 p.m. and I need to get home or almost home before the game gets over! Traffic is not fun on game day!!!

Week 1...I can do this!

Ahhh...week 1 is done :) WW weigh-in is tomorrow at 10 a.m. This was the 1st time I have been really good tracking on a Friday in a long time!  I also said I was going to get up this morning, but that didn't happen because I was so flippin' tired. I was up almost all night. My husband didn't feel well and the scary movie from last night didn't help either. So, I made it a priority and went this evening. I ran 1.88 miles tonight then came home and did some weights. I tried to do some crunches, but my back is hurting pretty bad. It has hurt all week, but it doesn't hurt when I run thank goodness!!! I broke down and was going to go to a chiropractor yesterday, but none seemed to be open or able to get me in so I gave up.

I was considering going tailgating tomorrow with some friends, but I don't want to blow all of my hard week I have put in this week! So, I think I am going to go spend some time with my parents and my nephews since my husband is working all day. Mom & dad came down to watch the boys while my sister and her husband go to the game. I think the weather is going to be nice, so maybe we can take them out for a walk :) Sounds like some haircuts might be needed too!

Movie Night

Today was a good day at work. A girl brought in cupcakes to say "thank you" for putting up with her. It was pretty late in the day when she brought them. I was really tempted by them and they were chocolate with chocolate frosting. Well, I caved and had to have one. I really just wanted the chocolate frosting off the top. After one bite, I decided it wasn't worth it and threw it in the garbage...sorry nice girl who brought the cupcakes. They looked pretty :) 

I had a pork roast in the crock pot ready when I got home from work. Which was good because Chris and I went to a movie. We saw Paranormal Activity 3. We haven't seen any of the others and I really wasn't too impressed. It wasn't as scary as I thought it would be. But I probably still won't be able to sleep tonight! haha :) I did resist the temptation of the popcorn...well kinda...we just got a small one and I didn't eat more than a handful of it. Yay me!!!

I didn't get my run in today, but will most certainly be getting up early tomorrow morning to do it. I highly doubt that I will want to go tomorrow evening, but who knows-maybe I will do 2 runs tomorrow if I feel really ambitious! Weigh in is on Saturday morning at WW. I can't wait to see how this week has gone. I feel like it has gone really good.

Brrrr...

It's cold out there! Well, I didn't get up to run this morning so I was tired all day and dreading going after work. I got off work at 6 p.m., quick ran home, changed clothes, grabbed my headphones and was out the door to PetSmart. The cats needed food. I grabbed my headphones so I wouldn't have any excuses not to go run once I got back home. I went 2.11 miles tonight. Not quite as far as usual, but it took the same amount of time. It was so windy out there. I think I need to invest in some actual running gear! The sweatshirt and yoga pants just aren't going to cut it once the temps get a little colder!

I got home from running and made a salad. I just love Schwan's Hot & Spicy chicken breasts! They are so good. I like to chop one up and put it into a salad with a little cheese, light sour cream, salsa and crushed up tortilla chips! Super yummy taco salad and it is quick since the chicken only takes 2 minutes to microwave :)

Now I am enjoying one of the greatest movies of all time...National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation! I can't believe it is on already! We aren't even past Halloween yet! hahaha! Speaking of Halloween, we have more children in our building than we have in past years so I think we should probably get some treats just in case some come trick-or-treating. I think I will just get some granola things that a girl at work introduced me to called Stila from Quaker Oats. They are really good and low in points. That way I won't be stuck with a bunch of candy bars if we don't have any!

Laundry is calling me and Ringer (the cat) thinks he needs to help me type so I must be done posting for the evening :)

Massage Day

Today I was tired all day! I had planned to get up this morning to run since I knew I wasn't going to get to do it tonight because I had a massage! Well, running this morning just didn't happen. I kept hitting the snooze button and resetting my alarm. Oh well, a day off won't kill me! I had my massage tonight and it was amazing! I really needed it. I got a deep tissue massage-not a very relaxing massage, but everything just feels so much better in my back. I think I need to work on my posture. I slouch way to much and I think it is making something hurt! Not good!!!

I stopped at Runza on my way home from my massage-not because I really wanted Runza, but because some friends were having a fundraiser there and I wanted to show support. I got a cheese Runza and onion rings. Hmmm...maybe a salad or chili would have been a better option. There are 15 points in the cheese Runza and 10 in the onion rings! YIKES!!! It's a good thing I waited until I got home to dive into it! I was on the phone with my dad and decided to just cut the Runza in half and only eat some of the onion rings. I counted the onion rings and there were 6 in the bag. I ate 4 of them and not even half of the Runza. I put it on a separate plate and wrapped up the other half and put it in the fridge. I was completely satisfied with this amount of food. I had just enough points left in the day to cover my poor decision (was it though-since I cut it in half?)!

I really wish I could go out and run tonight, but I don't want to mess up my massage plus it is really dark. My muscles feel so relaxed right now and last night I was having some back pain...gonna just take it easy tonight, drink lots of water and hopefully get up in the morning and go for a jog. New Shoes :)

My co-worker brought in these things called cake balls today to work. I don't know if any of you have ever had one, but they are pretty amazing! Yes, I did splurge a little and had a few of them. Three to be exact. It is hard to figure out how many points would be in each one of them so I am estimating that there were 9 points all together. A Snickers bar is 8 so I am going with 9. lol :)

Today, I got off work early and came home and cleaned a little then I decided that I wanted some new running shoes. I have been looking for some new ones for a while and I decided that today was the day :)  I picked out a pair from Famous Footwear online and called the store to see if they had them in my size and to my luck, they DID!!! I also found a coupon online for 15% off so I printed it out and took it into the store...never hurts to save a little $$$.

After getting my new shoes & socks I just had to get out and try them. I went a total of 2.54 miles today!!! Farthest I have gone so far. It took about 33 minutes. For some reason Runkeeper wasn't working for me so, I came home and tracked it from Runkeeper.com. The shoes are pretty comfy. I still have them on :) My feet are a little sore just because they are brand new shoes, but I am sure they will be broke in soon.

Time to figure out what to have for dinner. It is getting late! Plus my favorite show (Mike & Molly) is about to come on :)

Sunday-

Today has been a pretty good day for the "healthy lifestyle". I worked from 1-5 and even though it was pretty slow, I didn't go to the vending machine for a snack. I made sure that I took a couple of snacks with me so I wasn't tempted. The granola and banana were just as good as the candy bar I had yesterday. I actually felt kinda sick yesterday after eating it now that I think about it.

I just got home from a 2.33 mile run. I LOVE Runkeeper!!! It is probably my favorite app on my phone, besides Pandora! These two apps are really helping with sticking to the running! I don't think I could go nearly as far if I didn't have the headphones in my ears! I can't stand to hear myself breathe! Runkeeper maps my runs and keeps track of how far and how long I go!

Well, now it is time for dinner. I think I am going to make a salad with a hot & spicy chicken breast from Schwan's. Yum :)

Oh yeah, I should probably go over how WW works for those of you who are unfamiliar with it. Every food item has a points plus value and I get 31 points per day, for now anyway. All fresh fruits are 0 points and most veggies are as well. You also get points back for exercising. I try not to use these as I am trying to lose weight. There are 49 points that you can use throughout the week for extras or if you need to go over for something. You can use these 49 all at one time or you can use as needed. You don't have to use them at all if you don't want to. I pretty much always use mine! :) Lately it has been in the 1st day of my WW week. haha :) That's probably something I should change! So now you kinda know what I am talking about when I talk about points for the day.

First Blog Ever--What I am doing

Well, today is my first blog ever! Here it goes...

Yesterday I was thinking about what I could do to keep myself more motivated with my weight loss and exercise. I had just gone to Weight Watchers (WW) for my weekly meeting and had gained 1.4 lbs. I kinda had a feeling this was going to happen since I had not been doing so well with my eating habits. I did start running this last week and I am slowly starting to get into it. I did 2 miles 3 times last week! Not a bad start in my book :)

So, my ultimate goal for weight loss is to be down to 155 lbs. Yesterday at my WW weigh in I was 189.6 lbs. Yes...I just laid that out there for the WORLD to see! OK, so this means I need to lose 34.6 lbs to get to that ultimate goal and I have about 14 weeks to get there! I usually weigh in at WW on Saturday mornings. I will be posting my results on here for everyone to see how I am coming along. I will also be posting about temptations that come my way and what I am doing for exercise. Every once in a while I may throw in a good recipe :)
